Denton Hill State Park
This project revitalizes Denton Hill State Park to support increased visitation and expand four-season recreation opportunities. Central to the transformation is the renovation and addition to the existing ski lodge, which will become a new Adventure Center and the primary gateway for visitors exploring the park and the surrounding region. The Adventure Center will provide orientation, information, and amenities that enhance the overall guest experience year-round. The broader site improvements include upgraded grading and site access, enhanced vehicular and pedestrian circulation, partial renovation of the maintenance building, and the creation of new outdoor gathering and event spaces. Critical infrastructure upgrades, including rehabilitation of sewer, water, and electrical systems, will ensure long-term functionality and sustainability for the park’s future. Together, these improvements will position Denton Hill State Park as a dynamic, year-round destination for recreation, community events, and regional tourism.
Fisher Fine Arts Library at the University of Pennsylvania
Exterior envelope restoration is underway at the UPenn Fisher Fine Arts Library, Frank Furness’s celebrated “red sandstone, brick and terra cotta Venetian Gothic giant.” The library was designed in 1891 and is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. The project scope includes comprehensive masonry conservation—forensic investigation, treatment testing, repair, repointing, and cleaning of brick and terra cotta—along with repairs to the flat terra cotta roof to prevent water infiltration and restoration of the historic wooden windows and doors to preserve the building’s architectural integrity and long-term performance.
New Jersey Women’s Correctional Facility
DRG Architects is proud to lead this effort in partnership with nationally renowned justice design firm HOK. Located on a state-owned site adjacent to the former Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility, the new 420-bed campus will replace the aging Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women. Designed for the NJ Department of Corrections, the new facility represents a bold step toward restorative justice. The campus-style layout combines housing, education, vocational training, healthcare, dining, and recreation to support rehabilitation and reintegration. Housing units will serve multiple security levels and include specialized spaces for stabilization, treatment, and medical care. The design prioritizes natural light, outdoor access, and calming materials to create a restorative atmosphere for residents and staff, while clear sightlines and adaptable spaces enhance safety and efficiency. Sustainable strategies including energy-efficient systems, durable materials, and responsible site development will ensure longevity. The facility represents a transformative shift in New Jersey’s correctional design, promoting rehabilitation and dignity for incarcerated women within a secure, restorative environment.
