DRG Architects was retained by the New York City School Construction Authority to design a new school building to be known as PS 316 in the Woodhaven neighborhood of Queens in District 27. DRG Architects worked with the NYC SCA to provide multiple schemes responding to existing site conditions, urban context, demographics, and the Program of Requirements issued by the NYC SCA. The project site includes an adjacent lot where the play yard for the upper grades is located. An early childhood play yard was designed in a protected area behind the new school.
